Giving the Gift of Time

Giving the precious gift of time is a beautiful way to help our patients and their carers.

Our patient and family volunteers play an important role supporting our medical and social care teams by enhancing quality of life through companionship and support. This could include providing a break for carers, being there to listen and support, reading or doing simple activities with patients, delivering equipment or providing transport.

The contribution that Hospice West Auckland’s patient and family volunteers make to the lives of our patients, their carers and our organisation is absolutely invaluable. It is an enriching and fulfilling way to give back to the community, and many of our volunteers say it has brought a greater sense of purpose and self-awareness to their lives.

No previous volunteering experience is necessary, and full training, support and guidance is provided.

We are also experiencing high volumes of enquiries for all other volunteering roles at Hospice West Auckland, and because of this there may be delays in processing your enquiry. Thank you for your interest and we appreciate your patience and understanding.
