Celebrating Diwali at Hospice West Auckland

Hospice West Auckland is celebrating Diwali this year from Saturday 19 October to Friday 25 October with many special events and celebrations.

Diwali is celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs and Jains and is known as the festival of lights. For many people, Diwali honours the Hindu goddess of wealth, Lakshmi and the triumph of good over evil. During this time, people decorate their homes with lights, lamps, Diya’s and Rangoli full of bright colours to guide Lakshmi into people’s homes and bring prosperity for the year to come.

Diwali offers the chance to have fun celebrating with friends and family and to reflect on the year that has passed in order to plan for a prosperous year to come.

We have many exciting celebrations for the week coming in to Diwali including the following:

• Buy something new for you with all stores 50% off all clothing on Saturday 19 of October and Sunday 20 October
• Diwali remembrance held at Hospice House on Thursday 24 October from 5.30pm-6.30pm which is open to all who would like to attend and remember a loved one this Diwali

Please join Hospice West Auckland in celebrating Diwali this year.
