Thank you to all our amazing volunteers
This National Volunteer Week Hospice West Auckland is taking time to acknowledge the significant and valuable contribution its volunteers make to its success.
We have more than 450 people volunteering their time in some capacity, and they're a crucial part of making sure hospice services remain free-of-charge in West Auckland.
Chief Executive Barbara Williams says the gift volunteers give Hospice West Auckland is absolutely critical. “Thanks to our wonderful team of volunteers, who give us their enthusiasm, passion and time, we are able to provide the best possible care to people living with life-limiting illnesses in West Auckland.”
Hospice West Auckland has more than 450 volunteers giving their time in a range of roles and capacities. From retail shop assistants and life review writers, to drivers and patient companions. The roles are rich and varied and the volunteers speak proudly about their sense of achievement in contributing their time to support Hospice West Auckland.
“I’m especially proud we now have a wonderful group of young volunteers helping us in our Hospice West Rangatahi programme,” says Barbara. “This programme is an important step in further deepening our connection with our community and connects us with some outstanding up and coming young leaders.”
Hospice West Auckland is always glad to welcome more volunteers to its organisation. Prospective volunteers can register online http://hwa.org.nz/get-involved/registration or call volunteers services on 09 869 2346.Back to News
